We review a new woodworking book

Router techniques and projects book cover illustration.

Routing

Router trimmers are smaller, more manoeuvrable and cheaper than standard routers, and this comprehensive guidebook will teach you how to take full advantage of them in your woodworking. After covering the basics of operating a router trimmer, there are several detailed tutorials for using the router trimmer with fences and jigs. There’s also an extensive projects section, which includes several boxes, a wall-mounted shelf, a pegboard, chest, photo frame, cutting board and featherboards.

If you’d like a taster of the book, see WWC 94 for the plans to make the Wall-mounted Shelf. Routing, GMC Publications, £25, is available now from giftstome.co.uk and all good bookshops.
