New WWI Website

We are pleased to present the new Woodworkers Institute website, which is being launched alongside The Mark Baker Award for Woodturner of the Year. More details to follow.

Why have we changed the website?

Such is the way with the modern world that nothing seems to stay current for long. So, we felt it was time to update the previous version with an easy-to-navigate website that really celebrates the visual details of woodwork. As such, the new WWI website has large images, and offers a streamlined navigation process so you can find what you’re looking for with a few clicks. We already have hundreds of articles available, all for free.

 Some example titles:

  • Making a Carving Vice
  • Video – How to Cut Tenons on the Band Saw
  • Heat Treating Steel
  • Video – Applying Patterns to Wood
  • How to Make a Seed Box
  • Tree for Life – The Yew

Sounds great. What’s more?

With weekly additions to our articles list, we’ll bring you the same high-quality content found in our woodworking magazines, alongside weekly videos from our own Randy Maxwell, who will continue to offer his thoughtful advice and insights on a broad range of woodworking topics, including answering your questions and looking at the latest tools and woodworking trends. Furthermore, we’ve kept our popular Projects page which is brimming with inspiring and detailed tutorials that can be carried out in your own ‘shop.

To add to that, we will publish weekly newsletters that take a look at what’s going on from around the globe in the world of woodworking – from the informative to the interesting; from the funny to the downright ridiculous, we’ll scour the internet and draw on our industry insights to keep you informed. We’ve kept our handy events calendar of all upcoming woodworking events in the UK and US – including show summaries and how to book tickets.
